The Opus Group LLC was formed in 2004 when Gregory A. Gallo, CPA/PFS joined forces with Kevin J. DeRosa, CFP®. This partnership was a long time coming, since Greg and Kevin have been close friends since 1973. Growing up in neighboring towns, the two were stand-out athletes for local Little League baseball and Pop Warner football teams that perennially competed against each other. After thirty-plus years of friendship, Kevin and Greg finally put pen to paper and decided to work on the same team.
Kevin began his career in the financial services industry in 1992 with a focus on portfolio construction. His career began to evolve in 1996 when his younger brother Mark (pictured above) signed his first Major League Baseball contract. Mark turned to Kevin to help him develop financial strategies that would turn a short athletic career into lifetime security. Kevin now applies these same principles to the private investor.
Greg began his professional career in the Financial Services Audit Group at Ernst & Young LLP. Through his experience working as a CPA, Greg understands the devastating impact that taxation can have on retirement and thus specializes in developing tax efficient planning strategies for individual investors.
