The Opus Group at Garden State Securities, Inc. was formed in 2004 when Kevin J. DeRosa, CFP® joined forces with Gregory A. Gallo, CPA/PFS, CRPC®.   This partnership was a long time coming, since Greg and Kevin have been close friends since 1973.  Growing up in neighboring towns, the two were stand-out athletes for local Little League baseball and Pop Warner football teams that perennially competed against each other.  After more than thirty-five years of friendship, Kevin and Greg finally put pen to paper and decided to work on the same team. 

Kevin, a principal owner of Garden State Securities, began his career in the financial services industry in 1992 with a focus on investment planning.  His career began to evolve in 1996 when his younger brother Mark signed his first Major League Baseball contract.  Mark turned to Kevin to help him develop financial strategies that would turn a short athletic career into lifetime financial security.  Kevin has applied these same principles to the private investor.

After graduating  The College of New Jersey Summa Cum Laude in 1992, Greg began his professional career in the Financial Services Audit Group at Ernst & Young LLP.  Four years later he joined the industry he had helped to audit - progressing from advisor trainee to Senior Vice President.  Over the years, Greg has seen the devastating impact that bear markets can have on retirement plans and thus focuses on both core and satellite stratagies to help investors achieve their long-term goals.

Like any successful team, The Opus Group at Garden State Securities has added key personnel to compliment the skill sets of its founders.  Thomas A. Gallo joined the team in 2010 and draws on his nearly 20 years of experience of following corporate insider activity to help clients build better stock portfolios.  The Opus team's supporting cast is led by its Executive Assistant, Monica Thompson, who has worked in the financial industry for more than ten years.
